Weather Alert!

Always check this website to be sure events have not been changed due to the weather (or any other reason).
The weather can change drastically in a very short period of time and notification of schedule changes is very difficult.
We had a water main break in town that closed our club due to the lack of water, so sometimes it is more than just the weather!
We utilize this site to convey information on schedule changes,

SO CHECK THE HOME PAGE FIRST
before driving out to the club.

PLDC Rules

Prairie Land  'Rules of the Road'

Dance Floor Etiquette - Even a 4,000 sq ft dance floor gets full when several styles of dance are going on at the same time, so we follow Dance Floor Etiquette at Prairie Land.  Line dancers and other stationary dance styles are to be in the center of the floor leaving room for couples to dance by, flow dances are around the inner circle and lead & follow styles are around the outer circle.   There's plenty of room for everyone when we keep these guidelines in mind at all times.  Thanks for your cooperation!
Alcohol Policy  - No alcohol is permitted on Prairie Land property at any time due to insurance restrictions.  This includes the club and the parking lot.
Smoking Policy - Smoking is no longer permitted at the club in compliance with the Illinois Smoke Free Act that takes effect January 1st, 2008.
Membership Policy - Prairie Land Dance Club is a not-for-profit organization that is charted by the State of Illinois specifically as a country western dance club.  Accordingly, our purposes and activities are centered on the enjoyment and promotion of country western dance.
According to our bylaws, “club members’ common objective in belonging to the club will be directed toward social, recreational pleasure, and the advancement of the art of country western dancing and will practice proper dance floor etiquette at all times.  Members must have a working knowledge of the basic techniques of country western dance, such as two-step, waltz, shuffle/promenade, and line dance techniques.”
As a prospective member, you are certainly invited to become involved with Prairie Land by either completing a series of classes at Prairie Land or comparable classes at another country-dance location.   If you have not taken formal country-dance classes, but feel that you have a working knowledge of country dancing as defined above, you may apply for membership, subject to approval by the Prairie Land Board of Directors or its designee(s).
For more information on how to get a membership form, email Suzi   dance2morrow@
comcast.net  .  Memberships are $35.00 per year per person.
Door Fees - Effective March 1st, 2005: New Door Fees for all Country Western events:
Members: $3.00   NonMembers: $5.00
(These door fees do not apply to non-country events.  Please note the door fee information for these events.)
